Rockin' it in Second Grade!

If you hear, "Yo-yo, Dojo!" you can be sure a member of Stephanie Woodward's grade 2 class is near by. Mrs. Woodward has been awarding "dojo points" for a couple of years now. Class Dojo is a great app that allows her to offer students recognition in the moment, and best of all, parents who sign up know when their child earns a dojo point!

These members of Mrs. Woodward's class were the first two to earn 100 dojo points!  Congratulations to Samantha Wheatley and Sofia Eaton for a great job!

Tahanto Staff visit Grade 5

Ms. Diane Tucceri, Principal of Tahanto Middle-High School, and Mr. Greg Picariello, the Middle School counselor, met with our fifth grade students this morning to begin the talk of the transition to life as a sixth grader! After some math work, they talked about life at Tahanto - everything from changing classes to how to open a locker.

This is the first of several events designed to ease our students into the middle school way of life. Reminder to Grade 5 parents that Scheduling Nite for our current fifth graders is Thursday, May 12th, starting a 6:00 PM at Tahanto. A little further out, our students will be traveling to Tahanto for Buddy Day on Wednesday, May 25th.

A Minion Reasons to Buy Lunch!

We've been hearing from kids that they would be more likely to buy lunch if they knew what the lunch would be. So, our lunch room aides, Dara Hughes and Chris O'Neil created a bulletin board in the hallway with the week's menu posted. Their next goal is to create lunch menu reminders for the cafeteria.

We have been looking at our food service program, and how we can make school lunch more appealing to children and parents. We've been re-evaluating our menu, dropping lunch items kids do not like, and trying new items out.

If you have any suggestions, we are all ears!
